SmCo,Alnico,Ningbo magnets,Magnetic filter bar
1.Samarium cobalt magnets (SmCo) currently fall into two families of materials. They are SmCo5 and Sm2Co17. SmCo5 is usually binary of ternary alloys with the approximate atomic ratio of one samarium atom to five cobalt atoms.Sm2Co17 is an age hardening type with a com-position ratio of 2 samarium atoms to 13-17 atoms of cobalt.
They are usually formed by sintering.Sintered SoCo magnet have the character of brittleness, lacking of the ductility, thus need to be handled carefully. Withstands corrosion exceptionally well,so no coating is needed for surface protection.
2.Alnico alloys basically consist of aluminum, nickel, cobalt, copper, iron and titanium. In some grades cobalt and/or titanium are omitted. Also these alloys may contain additions of silicon, columbium, zirconium or other elements which enhance heat treatment response of one of the magnetic characteristics.
They are manufactured through either a casting or sintering process. Cast magnets may be manufactured in complex shapes, such as horseshoes, not possible with other magnet materials.Sintered Alnicos offer slightly lower magnetic properties but better mechanical characteristics than cast Alnicos.
3.Neodymium magnets (Nd-Fe-B) are composed of neodymium, iron, boron and a few transition metals.
Like SmCo magnets, NdFeB magnets are produced by the process of powder metallurgical sintering. Sintered NdFeB magnets have the character of brittleness and hard, thus need to be handled carefully. This material is easy corrosive,so its surface is usually treatd with some special methods. The surface treatment method include Zine,Nickel,Tin,Silver,Gold plating,Phosphor and Spray Epoxy Resin etc.
Because of its very high resistance to demagnetization, Reasonable temperature stability, high energy for size and Excellent cost to performance ratio.NdFeB magnet is accepted in wide range of application:Magnetic separators, linear actuators, microphone assemblies, servo motors, DC motors (automotive starters), computer rigid disc drives, alternators , printers and speakers.
